• After performing at Atlantic City’s Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa on Saturday night, Mariah Carey kept the party going until the wee hours, joining husband Nick Cannon as he deejayed in club mur.mur. “Security literally cleared a path for her to walk through,” says a witness. “She was surrounded by handlers.” Carey spent her night singing along “to just about every song” – including her own, “Emotions” – and happily posed and waved for fans while giggling with her dancers. When Cannon’s set wrapped around 2 a.m., Carey joined him in the deejay both to close out the evening.

January 5th, 2010Mariah Carey lives upto diva image
January 5th, 2010Mariah Carey lived up to her well-known diva image when she stopped her performance at the Borgata Hotel and Casino, in Atlantic City,
so she could have her make-up reapplied.
The ‘Hero’ singer was performing to a packed out audience at the Borgata Hotel and Casino, in Atlantic City, when her stagehands brought out a chaise longue on which she laid down on. She was then pampered while enjoying a glass of champagne, Contactmusic reported.
Laying back on her on stage throne, she playfully asked, “Do they expect me to stand up for the whole show? They call me a diva… because I am.” During her stay at the hotel, Carey had a huge rider and needed ten carts to carry all her luggage. The 40-year-old star recently admitted she loves being known as a diva but doesn’t think she is demanding enough.
“You know what? I guess I am a diva in many ways! When it comes to certain things, yes, I can be difficult and a little bit rigid about what I want. Am I demanding? I don’t think I’m demanding enough,” Carey said.

Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon Throw Holiday Party for Underprivileged Kids
January 2nd, 2010Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon have been in Aspen for a few days. Beside enjoying a vacation, they also spare their time to give back to the community. On Monday afternoon, December 21, the couple held a holiday party for 35 Colorado underprivileged children at a rented Aspen Recreation Center.
At the amusement spot, the kids who are between the ages of 9 and 12 enjoyed wall climbing, swimming and ice-skating. They were also treated with performances from magicians, jugglers as well as storytellers and got a visit from bearded Santa Claus who arrived on a sleigh pulled by reindeer with Mariah and Nick by his side.
“It was all about the kids. Many of these kids haven’t been out of Denver. A lot of them haven’t been in the mountains,” Jude Liguori-Oliver, child protective services administrator for the City and County of Denver, told The Aspen Times. On the children’s reaction when Mariah and Nick brought the Santa, Jude stated, “As soon as she got off the sleigh, they started screaming, ‘Mariah! Mariah! Mariah!’ ”
A keepsake for the children moreover, Mariah hired professional photographer to take a picture of each child with her, Nick and the Santa. Also, it is believed that the singer played the kids holiday films on the bus during their way back to Denver.
Mariah Carey is a regular visitor of Aspen around the holidays. According to The Aspen Times, this is not the first time she threw party for the underprivileged kids as she has been hosting such events for about 10 years

Inside Mariah Carey’s iPhone App
January 2nd, 2010For musicians in the old days, all you needed was a radio-ready tune, a music video and a willingness to hit the road in order to get your album to sell. In today’s environment, you need placement in a TV show, some sort of integrated marketing and a spot on a Timbaland album. Why all artists don’t develop an iPhone app is a mystery: They don’t cost much to make and can have great potential for interactivity and impact.
That’s why we were so excited for “Mariah Carey-oke,” the iPhone app released as a tie-in to Mariah Carey’s album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. It dropped a couple of weeks ago, though we’ve only just gotten around to giving it a test drive. It uses voice recognition software to judge how well you know the notes and lyrics to four of Carey’s tunes: “Touch My Body,” “Obsessed,” “Don’t Forget About Us” and “Shake It Off.” The songs become progressively harder as the game progresses (we had trouble getting through two, let alone the whole quartet). The app is augmented with artwork from Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. It’s a nice little presentation.
As previously stated, it’s insane that more artists don’t have custom apps like this. The app released by tech-savvy Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor is an incredible construction: It contains streams of all of Reznor’s songs, provides a news feed and helps you connect to other fans of the band. Other groups (especially those with strong online presences) could really benefit from such technology. Weezer could totally transpose their popular online game “Weezer Fight” into an app, or Justin Bieber could provide a direct connection to his Twitter feed or a running photo stream. At $3.99, “Mariah Carey-oke” (a fantastically punny name, by the way) is a little steep for four songs worth of portable singalongs, but it’s a cool idea that will probably get stolen repeatedly in the future.

January 2nd, 2010Mariah Carey Covers ‘Paper’ December 2009
January 2nd, 2010Mariah Carey lends her famous face to Paper Magazine in this sexy shoot for the magazine’s December/January issue.
Here’s what the 39-year-old singer had to share:
On the media’s harsh treatment of her 2001 breakdown: “It was after September 11th. A lot of people taking shots at me had no place to go. We are friggin’ ADD, this country. There’s a huge ADD situation.”
On dressing provocatively at an early age: “I have had very low self-esteem my whole life. When I was 12 or 13, I remember walking up the driveway, and this guy who was 20 — which may have been highly inappropriate — said to me, ‘I like your pants,’ and I was like ‘Oh, that looks good? Oh, OK, I will wear tight pants now.”
On her relationship with husband Nick Cannon: “All we do is have fun together. I don’t know what his eternal age is but maybe it’s more like 16.”
